Ellen Krupar receives 2012 President's Award for Excellence
April 23, 2012 – Ellen Krupar, librarian for the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech, has received the university's 2012 President's Award for Excellence.
She was nominated for the President's Award based on her extensive and selfless service as a community volunteer, specifically to the Virginia Tech Police.

Virginia Tech Police Department launches Ban from Campus Directory
January 23, 2012 – The Virginia Tech Police Department has launched the Ban from Campus Directory, an online directory listing of individuals that have been banned from Virginia Tech property. Directory listings include the name, year of birth, photo, and areas from which an individual has been banned. The directory home page also provides information about Trespass/Ban from Campus policies, the appeal process, and applicable laws.

Applicant Seminar
The Police Department and Human Resources are offering an Applicant Seminar to anyone interested in learning more about our Police Officer and Communications Officer positions. The application process for these positions is very detail oriented and often the lack of pertinent information on an application hinders candidates in successfully reaching the interview part of the hiring process.
The seminar will be held in 153 Southgate:
- Wednesday, February 23rd at 12 noon
- Thursday, February 24th at 5:30 p.m.
We will discuss specifics about the positions, how to apply, tips on completing the online application, discussion about the level of detail needed on the application/resume, and the selection process (including the POST test for Officer applicants) and answer any questions you may have.

Virginia Tech's Emergency Notification System Protocol is Now Available
February 18, 2010 – Virginia Tech has published an Emergency Notification System (ENS) Protocol in order to establish the process for activating the VT ENS when a threat or emergency situation is reported to the Virginia Tech Police Department or to another authority.
Implementing Behavioral Threat Assessment on Campus
February 15, 2010 – Recently published by Virginia Tech, Implementing Behavioral Threat Assessment on Campus: A Virginia Tech Demonstration Project, is now available for download. This book provides an overview of how Virginia Tech responded after the shootings in April 2007 and explains how case management and threat assessment were implemented.
