Patrol Officer Benefits

• $35,251 Minimum Starting Salary (educational incentives available)
• 12 day vacation first year, with increases up to 21 per year depending on years of service  
• Uniform and equipment furnished
• Up to 10 days sick leave per year and up to 5 days of family or personal leave per year (with no carry over from year to year)
• 12 paid holidays per year
• Educational incentive
• Up to 26 weeks of short-term disability coverage with income replacement levels of 100, 80, or 60 percent, depending on service
• 15 days military leave per year for the purpose of attending annual reserve military training
• VALORS retirement system includes full benefit retirement at 25 years of service and 50 years of age
