Patrol Officer Benefits
- $30,000 Minimum Starting Salary (eligible for more for bachelors and associates degrees)
- 12 day vacation first year, with increases up to 21 per year depending on years of service
- Uniform and equipment furnished
- Up to 10 days sick leave per year and up to 5 days of family or personal leave per year (with no carry over from year to year)
- 12 paid holidays per year
- Educational incentive
- Up to 26 weeks of short-term disability coverage with income replacement levels of 100, 80, or 60 percent, depending on service
- 15 days military leave per year for the purpose of attending annual reserve military training
- VALORS retirement system includes full benefit retirement at 25 years of service and 50 years of age
