Victim and Witness Services
The Victim/Witness Assistance Program aids victims and witnesses of crime by providing information and support from the reporting of the crime all the way through the court process. Victims and witnesses play an important role in the prosecuting of cases which may be frightening and frustrating, and this program is here to make the experience easier for you. All services are free, and additional links are below for your perusal.
The Commonwealth Attorney's office of Montgomery County provides victim/witnesses services to the Virginia Tech community. Their webpage can be viewed here, and their contact telephone number is (540) 382-5705.
The Women's Center at Virginia Tech
This department provides individual services, counseling, advocacy and educational outreach. Their website is linked here.
The Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund
This fund is provided to assist victims and witnesses with particular costs involving their individual case. To read more about the CICF, click here.
SAVIN
This program is the Virginia Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Service. This involves the notifying of victim of the offenders and their incarceration status. A link to SAVIN can be found here.
